One of Florida’s Gems: Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota

Email share

This was my first time visiting the Ringling Museum of Art and first impression was that I had no idea how large of a property it was. In all my visits to art museums, I have never been to one with so many different facets outside of the museum itself. Luckily the team at the museum coordinated a security guard to drive us around the campus on a golf cart with all our gear. I can’t imagine walking it with the amount of stuff we had with us! The art found inside and outside the museum is iconic and bold, but it also makes you pause to think about these massive pieces of European art withstanding the heat and humidity of Florida prior to air conditioning. Even if you don’t go inside one of the museums, or the Asolo Theater or the Ca’ d’Zan (Ringling’s home), walking the grounds you are immersed in the beauty of nature. The best advice I could offer anyone looking to visit, is to make sure you block enough time in your schedule to take it all in.
