Soaring to New Heights with the FSU Flying High Circus

Email share

Florida State University is only one of two colleges in the nation with a circus program, and the only one with its own big top. The program has been a part of the college since 1947 when the university became co-ed, and the program was made to bring both the male and female students together through athletics. Students learn a lot more than just the performance itself… they also learn to set-up the tent, make their own costumes, and rig their equipment. One notable alum of the program is Teresa Jacobs, Chair of the Orange County Schools Board and former Orange County Mayor.
