How many times have we driven by a park or a building or a street and NOT known who it was named after? My childhood street that I grew up on is named after a person, but I don’t know anything about who he was or his family (other streets nearby carry the same surname) were and their impact on the town. When I started researching potential story ideas for Season 9, this idea kept knocking, find the people who may not been the history museums, but made an impact in their community. One of those people was Robert L. Taylor, whose name can be found on the community complex in Sarasota located at 1845 34th St. Mr. Taylor was more than someone who lived in this community and had an impact, he was in charge of this recreation center for many years. His influence reached beyond the walls and left a lasting legacy for those following in his footsteps.
